Martha Lightfoot studied Italian and Art History in Siena and Venice, and
worked in the art department on (low-budget) films and making children's fancy
dress costumes, before illustrating children's books. She has lived in Suffolk,
London and Italy and ended up in Stroud in Gloucestershire, living on a hill with her husband and daughter.
