Amy Sparkes' first book, Hodge the Hedgehog was inspired by her two-year old son who couldn't remember the word for a hedgehog. As he kept calling it a 'hodge' or a 'hedgehodge' Amy decided that it was time for Hodge the Hedgehog to have his own story and so when both her children were having a daytime nap, she wrote it. Amy is a full time writer and lives in Devon with her family.
